DJ XLR8 was my DJ name during my rave & clubbing time. My influences were DJ's PeeWee Ferris, Nik Fish & Jumping Jack to name a few. I started raving in 1992, then travelled to Europe in 96 where I moved on from the happy hard / hardcore sound to Euro trance, acid trance / tech trance / hard trance. I followed these genre's until around 2000, when I progressed to psytrance. My other mates who were DJ's & promoters had been playing this sound for a couple of years, but it wasn;t until the progressive psy trance sound developed that I fell in love with it & then left the rave / club / commercial trance sound behind. I started DJ'ing psytrance straight away & changed my DJ name to Fiba Optix. I like most types of psytrance - from early evening progressive / psygressive to tech trance, full on night, full on morning, through to progressive morning & afternoon prog sessions and psy chill.
