Ron Nelson - Biography Ron Nelson is a pioneering and award-winning Jamaican Canadian DJ, radio personality, concert promoter, website developer, online broadcaster and educator. During his studies at Ryerson, Ron began his career hosting and producing the Fantastic Voyage on CKLN 88.1 FM – Canada’s first Hip hop radio show. A lecturer since 2003, Ron Nelson is a popular professor in the York University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Music where he eaches Contemporary Black Urban Music. In addition, he is heavily involved in the Toronto Reggae and Dancehall Sound Clash community as a leading concert promoter and proprietor of acclaimed website ReggaeMania.com and ReggaeManiaRadio. His contribution to the development of the dynamic Canadian Urban music scene remains vital. Ron Nelson is a true visionary and trailblazer.
