Robert Dixon, who was known in the world as Bobby Digital is undoubtedly one of the most important Jamaican music producers. His story begins in his brother’s electronic equipment workshop, where he gained the skill in repairing mainly radio and TV. He quickly found himself on Maxfield Avenue in Channel One Studio, where he gained experience in the art of mixing and recording. Shortly thereafter, he appeared in the King Jammy studio, where he became the main sound engineer. With the advent of the digital reggae era – Dixon honed his production skills and finally leave Jammy in 1989 and set up his own studio and label – Digital B.
Has made a huge amount of singles and albums that he produce which have become reggae and dancehall classics. He worked with artists such as Garnett Silk, Shabba Ranks, Cocoa T, Horace Andy, Ninjaman, Admiral Tibet and Sanchez. Dixon stand also behind the success of albums by artists such as Sizzla, Morgan Heritage, Jahmali and Gentleman.
