One half of the dynamic duo “Big Fun”, Joe Navarro realized his love for music at the young age of 13. His exposure to the “B-boy” culture in Toronto in the early 80’s had a big influence on his evolution as a DJ. Being immersed in an era of Disco, Funk, Breakbeats, Hip-Hop, RnB and of course House left its mark and will forever be in his heart and soul, which is what sets him aside as a versatile DJ. His love and passion for music and of course “happy people” on that dance floor is his driving force. He formed his first DJ crew (The Playboy Crew ) at the age of 14, and never looked back. His early influences as a DJ came from the likes of Mr. Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, and Roger Sanchez just to name a few.
His first residency was at Inner City Zone (1987) playing alongside Matt C and Jakes Hayes in North York, then moved on to Limelight (1989), making his way up in the industry with a promising career.
