DJ Honcho

DJ Honcho is a native of Northern Virginia. He was raised in a family built on the ideals that music is the soundtrack of life and every moment. With family roots from Trinidad & Tobago and the DC Metropolitan area, his musical appreciation is extremely diverse. DJ Honcho became hooked on the art of deejaying through the roots of his uncle and local DC DJ Hip-Hop legend, DJ Oso Fresh. DJ Honcho had the pleasure of being a part of Hip-Hop history in ways many in their childhood and teenage years never would have had the opportunity to as a result of his DJ family surroundings. DJ Honcho has worked the club scene in DC with roots at Club Five, Aroma, and Cities. He now frequents The BackRoom @ Capo, Wicked Bloom, and Hashtag Lounge. Specialty music genres of expertise include Classic Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop, LoFi, Acid Jazz, Downtempo, Reggae and Soca. Some notable artists DJ Honcho has opened for include Little Brother, Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), and KRS-One.
