Disco Loco Radio Big Weekender is a rolling daily schedule of pre recorded shows for families that will be published online by Hackney Showroom over 4 days, Fri 14- Mon 17 August 2020. With the Big Weekender we bring families together with creative activities, intergenerational discussion, listening projects and of course lots of music. No screens, no memes, just sound and music, full of beans. We’ve got cookalong jungle sets with professional chef Troy Cundy, words of comfort from our in-house agony aunt, poet Amelia Poamz, news bulletins from local kids courtesy of Andy Field & Beckie Darlington’s Reporters’ Club, History of Reggae DJ sets with Earl Gateshead & heaps more. New programmes will be published twice daily on our website and fed out via Instagram and Mixcloud. Age Suitability Disco Loco Radio is aimed at pre-school through to primary. Most programmes are suitable for all, with some guidance included in the schedule.
